Mr. Devaraj, 55, hails from the Tiruvannamalai district in Tamil Nadu. He was working as a laborer in the construction field when he fell from the first floor of a building, breaking his back. He was rushed to JIPMER hospital for medical treatment. However, within a few days, his caregiver vanished, leaving him alone. Despite the setback, he underwent surgery at JIPMER hospital. For post-recovery care, the hospital authorities approached Snehan Home for residential care and support until he fully recovered. At Snehan Home, Mr. Devaraj is gradually recovering. We provide him with nutritious food, tea, snacks, timely medications, and recreational activities.
Regarding his family, he revealed that his wife and daughter separated from him due to property issues five years ago. Although he has brothers and other relatives, none have offered to support him.
