We work with the homeless, disabled, old and sick people who are living on the streets without employment and basic needs.
In India, the wives are considered to be the home keeper and the husband the breadwinner (especially in a rural area). A man holds all the earning and spends on his own choices like alcohol, smoking and others. At the end of the day, the man gives little to the wife for the family survival. This little can hardly buy any food for all of them. These difficulties result in a quarrel and in poverty. Therefore, to empower the marginalized women in the communities, the Snehan tailoring centre. In this centre, we make Eco-friendly cotton Jolna bags. Where unemployed willing house wives are trained in tailoring and given employment opportunity to deserving ladies. The work and training space is created in such a way that they can come in their own free time between 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. The remuneration is paid for the piece rate. Therefore, the woman has time for the family and the opportunity to earn the possible. This earning gives the power in the family and can meet the basic needs in day to day life.
