Mr.Balakumaran 69 years old man from Chennai was found in the Pondicherry Bus station in unconscious condition on 3rd of September 2024. Four boys approached him while he was in unconscious state and grabbed his mobile and four thousand rupees. Mr.A. Anbazhagan (Asst. Sub. Inspector) Orleanpet Police Station. Found him in the bus station in a poor health condition, the police took quick decision to admit him for medical support. Mr.Balakumaran underwent medical treatment in Government Hospital after four days and he was discharged in regained health. Every day during the duty hours or after duty hours Mr.Anbazhagan would visit him in the hospital, buy him food and other needed things. Balakumaran, still not stable even after discharge from the hospital, he was needing more days for post discharge. The police requested Mr.Anumuthu founder of Snehan Home for residential care & support until he is completely regains his health. Snehan Home is a residential care & support centre for the abandoned disabled and sick people who suffer on the streets without anyone’s support. Such a needy people are rescued legally and given residential care & support at free of cost. With proper medical and nutritional support, Balakumaran regained his health and memories too. On Friday, we gathered more details of his family, Mr.Madhan MSW student who is doing internship at Snehan Project, took a responsibility to reunite Balakumaran back home.
Balakumaran left his family twenty years back, he has one son and one daughter are educated, married and employed. His son shared with us, which many time he pleaded with his father to join the family back but Balakumaran preferred to live alone with his personal habits. At the end the whole family was happy to see the head of the family back in the place.
