After many days of immobility, Susaimuthu is now able to walk on his own. Snehan Home first found him in a fragile state on the streets of Pondicherry weak, unstable, unable to walk, and not in sound mind. At the time of rescue, he was so dependent that caregivers had to provide diaper care and feed him in bed. With consistent medical attention, residential support, and compassionate care, his health gradually improved until he regained the strength to walk independently.
For the past three days, Susaimuthu expressed a strong desire to leave Snehan Home. As a chronic alcoholic, medical tests revealed his liver was severely damaged, and doctors strictly advised him not to consume alcohol. Despite counseling and guidance, his determination to go out remained firm. Respecting his choice, Snehan Home discharged him to live independently, while reminding him of the importance of protecting his health.
His story reflects both the challenges of rehabilitation and the resilience of the human spirit. Snehan Home continues to believe that every life deserves dignity, care, and hope even when the path forward depends on personal choices.
