We believe every life is worth celebrating—and this week, we had the honor of celebrating the 58th birthday of Mr. Murugan, a man whose resilience and quiet strength have deeply moved us all.

Once a proud employee at Titan Company, Mr. Murugan’s life took a painful turn in 2016 due to family hardship. With nowhere to go, he wandered from bus station to bus station across districts, sleeping on cold benches and surviving on the kindness of strangers—water, tea, and the occasional meal offered in charity. For years, his birthday passed unnoticed, like so many other days.

But this year was different.

Now a cherished resident of Snehan Home, Mr. Murugan has found not just shelter, but dignity, companionship, and purpose. Despite his physical challenges, he remains remarkably active—always eager to lend a hand, always ready with a smile.

As we gathered to celebrate his birthday, emotions ran deep. With tears streaming down his face, he whispered, “In my whole life, this is the first time someone has celebrated my birth.” That moment reminded us why we do what we do.

We shared cake, laughter, and a special meal prepared with love. And in a beautiful gesture to mark the day, Mr. Murugan planted a gooseberry tree in our garden—a living symbol of hope and remembrance. We know that in the years to come, every fruit from that tree will carry his story forward.

Because at Snehan Home, we don’t just offer care—we honor lives, restore dignity, and celebrate second chances.
