The Rotary Club of Pondicherry – Galaxy recently organized a special event to honor individuals who are shaping a better society. Among the awardees were outstanding teachers and social change makers from Puducherry. The Chief Guest PDG Rtn. A. Joseph Suresh Kumar.
Mr. Anumuthu, Founder and Director of Goodwill Mission – Snehan, was recognized with the Vocational Excellence Award and the Nation Builders Award for his tireless humanitarian service to the neglected and abandoned people living on the streets of Puducherry.
While Pondicherry has a few old age homes, Snehan Home stands unique in its mission. It is the only home in the region that rescues the sick and dying from the streets, offering them medical care, shelter, and compassionate support. This life saving intervention gives people at the edge of death a chance at recovery, dignity, and a new beginning. Once restored to health, residents are discharged, empowered to live independently again.
Through this mission, Snehan Home saves 30 to 50 lives every year, bringing hope and value to those who were once forgotten. For this extraordinary service, Mr. Anumuthu was rightfully honored with the Vocational Excellence Award.
