We work with the homeless, disabled, old and sick people who are living on the streets without employment and basic needs.
In Pondicherry, many individuals—unemployed, disabled, widowed, and homeless—struggle daily without access to opportunity or support. Snehan envisions a future where these vulnerable lives are empowered through skill and purpose.
Building on the success of our eco-friendly cotton bag initiative, which has provided street-based employment and decent income to homeless beneficiaries over the past ten months, Snehan now aims to launch a dedicated tailoring training and production unit. This space will welcome unemployed and disabled men and women, offering them hands-on training in tailoring and bag-making.
Participants will learn to craft eco-friendly cotton bags and stitch garments suitable for everyday use—bags that serve college students, working adults, schoolchildren, and even grandparents. Each six-month training batch will accommodate 10 individuals, equipping them with skills to earn independently and live with dignity.
The bags produced will be sold by Snehan’s homeless beneficiaries, creating a cycle of empowerment and sustainability. This initiative not only provides meaningful employment but also generates income to help Snehan sustain its mission.
Through this project, Snehan transforms lives—offering not just training, but hope, independence, and a renewed sense of worth.
